Google is to acquire web-based encryption and archiving software company Postini in a $625 million (£310 million) deal. Postini sells its products to more than 35,000 businesses and 10m users worldwide. The acquisition is expected to be completed later this year. Google already bought DoubleClick and YouTube earlier this year, paying $3.1 billion (£1.5 billion) and $1.65 billion (£807 million) respectively. - www.google.com; www.postini.com.
