The Month: Justice remains offline

Every customer-facing IT professional has a confused user story, but new ground has surely been broken this month, when a judge presiding over a cyber-terror trial admitted that he had no idea what a website was.

Mr Justice Openshaw stunned prosecutors at Woolwich Crown Court inLondon when he said: 'The trouble is I don't understand the language. Idon't really understand what a website is.'

A computer expert had to give him a brief introduction to the internet, which unfortunately failed to illuminate. "I haven't quite grasped theconcepts,' said 59-year-old Openshaw.

The three defendants were accused of helping to distribute Islamicpropaganda over the internet in support of al-Qa'eda. The trialcontinues.
