Walmart Canada’s Online Photocentre down after potential breach

Walmart Canada has taken down its online photo processing service and is investigating a possible breach that may have compromised the credit card information of up to 60,000 people, according to The Globe and Mail.

An alert currently on the now-disabled website said the retail giant has “no reason to believe that Walmart.ca, Walmart.com or in-store transactions are affected,” and recommended that Walmart Canada's Online Photocentre customers monitor accounts for fraudulent activity.

The photo service site is operated by a third party, PNI Digital Media, which specializes in retailer websites. The digital media company did not confirm the breach but did say it would address the issue at a later time, according to a report in the Huffington Post.

Walmart has notified the Office of Privacy Commissioner of Canada and will be contacting the customers who may have be affected.
