For anyone running their applications on a Mac, this solution is going to provide an important safety net against lost data.
This next solution is ideal for publishers and media houses that rely on Macintosh computers for their production activities. Intego Personal Backup X allows the user to back up their critical files, clone volumes and synchronize files between two volumes.
Not having to rely on the network for all your backup needs can provide a valuable edge in a fast paced and deadline-hungry environment where time is crucial. Requiring Mac OS X 10.11 or later, you'll need 10Mb of free disk space and a screen resolution of 800 by 600 as minimum. Versions for Mac OS 8.1 to 9.2.2 also exist.
Installation is straightforward and you can generate scripts to enable immediate and instant backup, with a script dropdown menu to choose the type of procedure required. Synchronization provides updates to all data between two volumes, and a hot key backup function is provided. This is extremely useful if you want to synchronize removable media or ensure that your iBook files are identical to your workstation, or vice versa.
Automated backup can also be scheduled for all data at the end of the day when logging off or at regular intervals, whichever is most convenient. As it uses Finder format to back up your copy, it is extremely easy to locate it if things do go wrong, and is a simple and effective way to locate and restore files.
Intego Personal Backup X recognizes any HFS volume: all of your hard drives, DVD-R, CD-R, AppleShare Servers and iDisks, among others. It is not resource hungry, so it works quietly in the background, letting the user carry on as usual.
In the event of a hard drive failure or a deleted file requiring restoration, this software application lets you recover your work with ease. Backups are incremental, so only the changed data, as in new or modified files, is taken into account.
Logs are also generated so that all Intego Personal Backup X activities can be easily referred to by the user and monitored. This solution also allows the use of exemption lists, so that users can select to back up just important data while choosing not to copy other files. It is a practical approach for Mac users.
