Intel Security president named ForeScout CEO

Former Intel Security President Michael DeCesare has joined ForeScout Technologies, Inc. as its new CEO, replacing interim CEO T. Kent Elliot, who will remain on the company's board of directors as a non-employee member.

ForeScout sees DeCesare's hire as a way to help accelerate its growth. In a press release, DeCesare cited the “explosion of mobile devices, cloud and wireless access” as having turned the focus on security.

“This is where the action is, and the rapid growth of network security companies proves it,” he said.

In addition to his tenure at Intel Security, DeCesare has held senior roles at Oracle, EMC and Documentum and brings 20 years of experience to ForeScout. He will assume his new role on March 2.

Former Intel CTO Michael Fey left the company in December to join Blue Coat Systems as COO.
