(ISC)2 gains Asian presence

The International Information Systems Security Certification Consortium (ISC)2 has named nine senior security professionals to head its Asian Advisory Board.

The non-profit infosec body said the volunteers will make recommendations regarding certification programs offered to security professionals in Asia.

"People are the most important factor in the success of any organization," said James E. Duffy, CISSP, president and CEO of (ISC)2. "The appointed members were selected to contribute significantly to this aim. Asia is one of the fastest growing regions for the security profession, and the demand for qualified personnel continues to increase."

The first meeting will be held in Hong Kong on August 17, 2004. (ISC)2 said the board will meet at least twice a year.

The new members are: Chester Soong (Hong Kong), Jae Woo Lee (South Korea), Mark Ames (Australia), Duan Haixin (China), Prinya Hom-anek (Thailand), Meng Chow Kang (Singapore), Hisashi Kasahara (Japan), Peter Koo, (Hong Kong/China) and Hiroshi Yasuda (Japan).
