Manny Rivelo set to take over as president and CEO of F5 Networks

Manny Rivelo was named president and CEO of F5 Networks, an application solutions provider, on Wednesday.

In addition to his new position, Rivelo will be put on F5's Board of Directors beginning July 1, according to a company press release. He previously served as executive vice president of strategic solutions, which allowed him to devise F5's strategic development, product management and global marketing strategy.

Rivelo will be taking over for the company's previous CEO, John McAdam, who will be retiring on July 1, at which point he will become chairman of the Board of Directors. Al Higginson, who currently holds the position, will become the board's lead independent director.

Prior to his time at F5, Rivelo worked at Cisco Systems, Inc. for 19 years.
