Another DHS cybersecurity director resigns

Bob Liscouski, who headed the Department of Homeland Security division responsible for cybersecurity, has resigned.

Liscouski, assistant secretary for infrastructure protection, plans to leave DHS in early February and return to the private sector, according to a statement released this week by the agency. His Information Analysis and Infrastructure Protection division is responsible for both physical and cybersecurity.

Amit Yoran, who headed the division's cybersecurity efforts, resigned last fall.

Industry groups have said Yoran's position was buried too far down in the DHS bureacracy to be effective and lawmakers have called for the creation of a new assistant secretary of cybersecurity in DHS.
