Another phishing scam targets military personnel

May 23, 2007
Just over a month ago, The Roundup posted an item about phishers targeting members of the U.S. military stationed overseas.

The logic behind the scam makes sense. Who, after all, is more likely to use online banking services than people stationed overseas for months at a time?

This week, Websense warned PC users about a disturbing new scam working along the same lines. The attack targets customers of Pentagon Federal Credit Union, sending emails with a link to a fraudulent website – hosted in South Korea – that appears to be from the bank.

Websense has a screenshot of the phishing email here.
