»AlgoSec, provider of firewall management solutions, has named Neil McNamara general manager of North America. He will lead all sales operations and look to build the company's channel presence. Before this, McNamara held senior sales positions at Copiun, SurfControl (now part of Websense),

»Blue Coat Systems, provider of web security and WAN optimization products, has appointed Marc Andrews SVP of field operations. He will run worldwide sales and also retain his role as team lead of EMEA sales until a replacement is found. Prior to Blue Coat, Andrews was president of Micro Focus International.
»Imation, provider of removable data storage products, has acquired the assets of IronKey's data storage hardware business. Under the deal, terms of which were not disclosed, Imation will be licensed to use the IronKey brand for its storage products. About 40 IronKey employees will transfer to Imation.
»Nukona, maker of mobile application management software, has closed a round of venture capital funding, led by Citrix' Startup Accelerator program. The amount of the funding was not disclosed, but it will be used to grow the security and policy management capabilities of Nukona's product line, which caters to Fortune 500 customers.
»Wave Systems, an authentication vendor, has acquired Israel-based Safend, provider of endpoint data leakage prevention solutions, for $12.8 million. The deal allows Wave to offer DLP products to its health care, financial services and government customers, where such technology is a high priority. Wave intends to keep on Safend's executive team, including founder Gil Sever.
»Fordham Law School in New York has opened the Center on National Security, which will grow the school's work into areas such as terrorism and cybersecurity. Karen Greenberg (left) has joined as the center's director. She previously was executive director of the Center on Law and Security at New York University.
»StillSecure, a managed security solutions provider, has partnered with Host.net, Peak 10 and ViaWest. The three data center and cloud firms will make StillSecure's cloud security monitoring service available to their customers.
