How to Prepare for the Digital Transformation Era

By Marcos Colon

While IT was once the function within organizations that drove technological advancements, that’s no longer the case. Now, the business itself is in the driver’s seat and determining what the digital transformation era looks like.

With the need to work smarter, faster, and harder, the modern-day business will stop at nothing to excel—meaning any opportunities that tech will provide will be considered. Unfortunately, when the business starts driving this transformation, security can no longer be an obstacle or roadblock to what the business is trying to accomplish, says Jason Georgi, business value consulting leader at Zscaler.

“CEOs are looking at more ways to be more digital and frictionless between a consumer and an internal end user and what they’re trying to access,” Georgi told Internal Audit Insights during a recent interview shot at the CSA Congress event in Orlando, Florida. “[As a security leader]. You have to be on your toes and be ready to adapt to meet it at the speed in which they’re trying to go.”

Like it or not, the digital transformation era is here. But what does that actually mean—and more importantly—what does that mean to you as a security practitioner? Georgi who broke it down for InfoSec Insider in the full video interview below.
