Imperva acquires Distil Networks

Imperva announced yesterday it had acquired Distil Networks with plans to integrate that company’s automated attack mitigation capabilities to help round out Imperva’s product portfolio.

Neither company made the merger’s financial details available nor is it currently known how Imperva will integrate Distil’s staff into its current operation.

“Distil Networks gives us a comprehensive bot management solution that identifies, responds to and manages a full range of automated attacks no matter where these applications or APIs are deployed. We believe Imperva and Distil Networks will create the most comprehensive security platform on the market and we’re excited to make this available to our customers worldwide,” said Chris Hylen, CEO of Imperva.

The Distil Networks deal is the second for Imperva in the last 12 months, as the company purchased Prevoty in July 2019.

It is also the latest in a burst of mergers and acquisitions that last week saw Insight Partners acquiring Recorded Future, Palo Alto buying Twistlock and PureSec, Sophos taking over Rook Security and FireEye snapping up Verodin.
