Is Apple raining on Microsoft’s parade?

For the third month in a row, Apple today released security updates right around the same time as competitor Microsoft's Black Tuesday monthly updates.

Now before we start shedding tears for already overworked security administrators, Apple may be on to something here.

Apple is clearly issuing more security updates than ever before. But because Apple is still largely considered a consumer platform, many companies lack automated patching capabilities for Apple vulnerabilities. (Not that Apple helps them too much in this regard either).

Anyway, organizations seem to have their Windows patching pretty down pat, but when it comes to their Macs, that's another story. Often times, many Apple flaws go days, weeks, months without being fixed.

So Apple is trying to get two birds killed with one stone.

Apple figures that if corporations are already thinking patching with Microsoft's monthly mass delivery, they're also gonna show some love for their Mac machines and servers.
