Microsoft Delays February Security Updates

By Marcos Colon

The company has delayed the release of the new Security Updates Guide which was set to replace the web-based security bulletins this month, according to PCWorld.

The new cumulative update model bundles all patches together, rather than allowing security managers to access each patch separately. This means if there’s something wrong with one patch, it stalls the release of the updates across the board.

In a post on its Microsoft Security Research blog, the company said it “discovered a last-minute issue that could impact some customers and was not resolved in time for our planned updates [Tuesday].” This led to the delay in this month’s updates.

Microsoft has not indicated when the February updates will be released.
