Ohio school disciplines 13-year-old hacker

Proof that hackers are getting younger all the time came earlier this month, when a 13-year-old student in Ohio was suspended for 10 days because of his alleged hacking of the school's computer network.

The student at North Ridgeville Middle School has not been named, but the school said that he had deleted three years' worth of reading records before being discovered.

Reporting on the suspension, the Cleveland Plain Dealer quoted a school spokesperson as sating that the school district is investigating allegations that two other students took part in the hacking earlier this month.

The paper added that the reading data was lost, as the school had not made a backup of the material concerned.
