took home a total of seven awards from two events this week hosted by the American Society of Business Publication Editors (ASBPE
), the Wheaton, Ill.-based professional association for editors and writers working in the business, trade and specialty press.
In the national awards, announced on July 16, the first evening of the two-day ASBPE National Editorial Conference held in Washington, D.C., SC Magazine
won top honors Gold Awards in two categories: Annual Buyer's Guide
(singling out the editorial staff for the December 2008 Reboot issue) and Product Section (honoring the SC Labs products review team, led by SC Magazine
Technology Editor Peter Stephenson, for the Products section in the issues of Feburary, March and April 2008).

In addition, at ASBPE's Northeast Region gala, held on Wednesday evening in Manhattan, SC Magazine
won five ASBPE awards. Two of the awards were for Graphics Excellence in Feature Article Design, singling out Art Director Brian Jackson and Group Design Director Sandra DiPasqua, receiving a Silver Award for The New Perimeter
(October 2008, above) and a Gold Award for CEO Survey 2008

In the Editorial Excellence segment at the Northeast Region Awards ceremony, SC Magazine
swept the Original Research category, winning the Gold Award for CEO Survey 2008: View from the top
(November 2008), and tieing for two Silver Awards for Salary Survey 2008
(July 2008) and Guarding against a data breach
(January 2008). All three of these articles were penned by SC Magazine
's Editor-in-Chief Illena Armstrong.

The ASBPE awards honor outstanding work by magazines, newsletters and digital media. The competition is open to all U.S.-based publications. The top entries nationwide receive national awards. Print publications also compete against others in their own regions, broken down into four regions across the United States.
