Sophos announced today it has acquired the cloud infrastructure security company Avid Secure.
Sophos did not release any financial information regarding the deal of the San Francisco-based Avid Secure nor any details on how the two companies will combine their operations. Dan Schiappa, Sophos’ senior vice president and general manager of products, said Secure Avid’s technology will be used to expand the companies capabilities in cloud security.
Avid Secure said it uses artificial intelligence and automation to handle the challenges of effective cloud security including lack of workload visibility and the constant monitoring required to stay ahead of today’s sophisticated attacks.
