Kasperky's Top 20 Online Scanner includes all classes of malicious
programs: worms, trojans, backdoors, adware and potentially malicious
programs.

According to Kaspersky, the rankings show that virus writers are
currently obsessed with malicious code which can be used for espionage.
The list includes more than ten programs that try to harvest user
information and confidential data such as bank account numbers.

1:600 On average, up to one in 600 profile pages on social-networking
sites hosted some form of malware in July. Social-networking sites,
often assumed to be popular only with teens, accounted for approximately
1% of all web use in the workplace.

Spyware blocks increased by 19% in July after falling 1% in June.

ScanSafe reported the majority of malware found in social-networking
sites was adware and spyware. This ranged from more benign programs that
track usage to difficult-to-remove spyware that can affect a user's web
experience, for example, by redirecting the browser.

PHISHING TARGETS
PayPal is the world's most phished sites, followed by eBay. As you would
expect, banks feature heavily in the top 10, with three US banks in the
top five, followed by several UK financial institutions.

SPAM WATCH
The chart shows the percentage of global email traffic that was defined
as spam in the year up to August 2006, based on 180 milliom emails
scanned daily. The average rate was 58.7%, peaking at 67.3% last
October.
