Intelligence officials in the United States and the United Kingdom have issued warnings to both airports and nuclear power plants of potential cyber attack attempts aimed at them.

The series of terror alerts were issued in the past 48 hours after terrorist actors may have developed ways of bypassing security checks, according to a report by The Telegraph.

Last week the U.K. banned laptops on flights from six predominantly Muslim countries, a move likely prompted after receiving information from the intelligence agencies. Now, the same agencies believe that the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) may have found a way to plant explosives into laptops and mobile devices in ways that thwart airport security at European and U.S. airports.

Information has also been communicated that points to intelligence agencies catching on to cyber attack attempts being made on nuclear power station security measures.
