Researchers Ken Dunham, Jim Melnick and Andy Schmidt have joined start-up iSight Partners, a risk mitigation and management service provider. Dunham is director of global response, Schmidt is content officer and Melnick is director of global threat intelligence.


Aveksa, a global provider of enterprise governance access solutions, has appointed Brian Cleary as VP of marketing. Cleary is responsible for product marketing and management, strategy and development. He previously held senior marketing roles at OpenPages and CA.


WatchGuard Technologies, maker of unified threat management solutions, has named Joe Wang president and chief executive officer. He previously served as CEO of LANDesk and as vice president and general manager of Symantec's enterprise administrative division. WatchGuard also has named Thom Linden vice president of engineering, Terry Haas vice president of international sales, and Bill Smith vice president of sales in the Americas.


Kaspersky Lab, a global maker of internet threat management solutions with U.S. headquarters based in Woburn, Mass., has established a board of directors. The nine-person board consists of shareholders and Kaspersky executives from around the world. Natalya Kaspersky has been named chair and founder and Eugene Kaspersky has been appointed chief executive officer. The board was created so the company would have representation in its expanding markets.


ForeScout Technologies, provider of network access control solutions, has promoted Gord Boyce to president. Boyce, who previously served as global vice president of sales, will be responsible for growing the sales and operations infrastructures. Before joining ForeScout, he worked on the internet communications group at Nokia.


Commtouch, provider of email defense solutions, has promoted Rebecca Steinberg Herson to vice president of marketing. She previously served as senior marketing director. Her new role will involve driving corporate marketing strategy and leading marketing activities. Prior to Commtouch, Herson worked as vice president of marketing at software start-up Redmatch.


Brian Wiser has been elected chairman of the board at the Computing Technology Industry Association (CompTIA). Wiser is SVP of sales and vendor management for North America at technology distributor Ingram Micro. David Roberts, SVP of sales at Websense, has been named vice chairman.


Martin Pejko has been named VP of global channels at Guardium, a database security firm. He will be charged with overseeing and expanding relations with the global channel partners.


Perimeter eSecurity has merged with hosted secure e-message provider USA.NET to complement its on-demand solutions. It also announced $50 million in financing from Goldman Sachs.
