Laptops stolen from Indiana VA hospital

The personal information of 12,000 patients of a Veterans Affairs hospital in Indianapolis is at risk after three laptops were stolen from the facility.

The computers were taken from locked offices at the Roudebush VA Medical center in Indianapolis on Saturday.

What was the response? Affected patients are being contacted, according to VA officials.

The department is also offering a free year of credit monitoring to affected patients.

Details: VA officials said the patient information was protected by passwords.
