A new ten-year plan unveiled by New York City Major Bill de Blasio is aiming to create a slew of cybersecurity positions in the Big Apple.
A total of 25 initiatives is expected to produce 100,000 jobs that pay at least $50,000 per year, but the de Blasio administration is looking to heavily invest in cybersecurity, where the plan is expected to result in 30,000 jobs within the field, according to a recent release.
“New York City can be the cybersecurity capital of the world,” Major de Blasio said. “This plan is to create quality jobs which more and more people need in this city, and that includes a whole lot of people who have a high school degree, who have a two-year degree, who have a four-year degree, who have trouble finding a job that they could actually live on.”
