Android mobile root privilege exploit used for malicious purposes

February 12, 2015

Lacoon Mobile Security recently analyzed a privilege escalation exploit that affects all versions of Android prior to 5.0, or Lollipop. The exploit was developed to “root” Android devices intentionally, but attackers can package the exploit in malware and distribute it to take complete control of an infected user's device.

In this video, Michael Shaulov, founder and CEO of Lacoon Mobile Security, discusses how the exploit works, what attackers can do with it, and what organizations should do to protect users from these types of mobile threats.
