More Than Half of Enterprise Endpoints Feature Outdated Flash Installs

By Marcos Colon

A majority of enterprise computers are running an outdated version of Adobe Flash, according to a new study.

Duo Security’s 2017 "Trusted Access Report,” analyzed 4.6 million endpoints – including Windows and Apple computers, as well as Android and iOS devices.

The study found that the number of endpoints running out-of-date versions of Flash has grown 10 percent year-over-year to 53%, indicating that more than half of enterprise endpoints may not be protected against recently disclosed vulnerabilities.

“To measure the state of device security health, the report analyzes top indicators including out-of-date operating systems, browsers and plugins that make endpoints more susceptible to vulnerabilities, as well as security features mobile devices have enabled,” Duo said in a recent release.

Of the total number of endpoints analyzed, the study also found that 21% are running version 24.0.0.194 of Flash, which has 11 listed critical bugs published in February.
