PCI SSC announces 2015 SIG projects

The PCI Security Standards Council (PCI SSC) on Thursday announced its Special Interest Group (SIG) projects for 2015.

The topics to be explored next year will be: “Daily Log Monitoring: Guidance on Effective Daily Log Monitoring,” and “Shared Responsibilities: Guidance on Determining Shared Responsibilities for Entities and Third Party Service Providers.” The project details will be detailed in December, before the initiatives launch in January, according to a press release.

PCI Participating Organizations, which include merchants, financial institutions, service providers and associations, chose the two SIG themes from seven that were submitted and presented.

Participating organizations and assessors can get involved with the 2015 SIG projects through PCI SSC's web form, which will be available from December 1 to December 22.

This year's SIG projects were: “Penetration Testing Guidance” and “Security Awareness Program: Best Practices for Implementing a Formal Security Awareness Program.”
