Porn site Digital Playground hacked to expose card numbers

Another adult web site has fallen victim to hackers.

Online intruders from a group calling itself The Consortium claimed this week to have invaded Digital Playground, a California-based erotic site, to make off with 40,000 plain-text credit card numbers, including names, CCV numbers and expiration dates. In addition, they said they looted the personal information on 72,000 users.

The hackers, which appear to be affiliated with Anonymous and LulzSec, also claimed to "root" four of the site's servers, which permitted them access to corporate emails.

"We did not set out to destroy them, but they made it too enticing to resist," the hackers said in a mirror image of the compromise. "So now our humble crew leaves lulz and mayhem in our path."

The site's home page remains live, but a note tells members that access is currently unavailable.

Digital Playground is owned by Luxembourg-based Marwin. This is the second Manwin property to be hit in recent weeks.

In late February, the chat service of the popular YouPorn site was compromised to expose thousands of usernames and email addresses. A spokeswoman blamed a faulty third-party provider, according to reports.
