Fischer International Identity Fischer Identity v5.2

The Fischer International Identity solution is a set of high-availability Java applications for SaaS (software-as-a-service) and on-premise, running on open source or commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) platforms (OS, DB, directory, etc.). Implementation and management can be performed remotely across domains and firewalls. Fischer's graphical implementation and administration eliminate scripting; promote reuse of components, including workflows, connectors, data mapping, triggers, rules, policies, etc.; and enable rapid implementation and business changes. Workflows call any executable or script to promote reuse of legacy solution logic.

Further, secure multi-organization/multi-tenant capabilities allow independent client organization management, throttling throughput addresses SLAs, unlimited scalability, WCAG 2.0 accessibility, and mobile two-factor authentication. Global Identity Architecture incorporates Fischer's J2EE interoperability engine, service-oriented architecture and design time/runtime environment. Fischer's ETL engine enables schema discovery, data transformation, policy execution, data reconciliation, etc. The tool can reside behind a proxy server.

The Fischer SaaS solution is typically installed on a Windows or Unix server as a gateway. Organizations typically install Fischer Identity on their infrastructure, such as Windows, Unix or open source. Windows is typically Windows Server with SQL Server, Active Directory, Apache Tomcat and Microsoft IIS. Unix is typically Solaris with Oracle DB, Sun Java System Directory Server, Apache and JBoss. Open source is typically Red Hat Linux, PostgreSQL DB, Red Hat Directory Server, Apache and JBoss Application Server.

As well, Fischer has provided a good set of hardware and software options based on the features the customer chooses to use. These range from Windows to Unix /Linux/Solaris 8 (or later) server platforms, web application server settings and more.

The Fischer Identity on-premise software offering is $22.80 per user (10,000 users) and that includes user provisioning, password management, access termination, privileged account access and identity compliance modules, as well as connectivity to all commercially viable systems and applications and self-service portal access. Single module purchases start at $7.60 per user (10,000 users) and includes connectivity to all commercially viable systems and applications. Pricing does not include hardware or prerequisite software (operating system and more).

For an organization that does not want to invest in hardware products or maintain systems, and does not have the resources or skills to address the identity management issues, a SaaS solution can be just what the doctor ordered. This is a good value for an organization looking to unload the burden of managing hardware, software and maintenance.
