This is a suite of products designed to completely protect a large organization against viruses and other security issues.
With no less than 15 products making up the Panda suite, their effective management would be near impossible in a large organization without AdminSecure.
At the heart of the software is the AdminSecure Console, used to administer all the relevant tasks. You can access any server or client on the network, update virus signature files, set up scans, and more.
The Console talks to other nodes on the network through XML-based Communications Agents, which can be installed on all clients and servers during the initial installation process. It also offers to install a Microsoft SQL Server Desktop Engine, as a SQL-compatible directory is required to store information.
The nucleus of the program is the Administration Server, which collates, processes and stores all the information collected by the Communications Agents and sends it to the Console where it can be easily managed.
Although straightforward, the sheer size of the program can be a bit daunting at first, and patience is required in order to effectively understand and use everything.
Updates, the task at the heart of every anti-virus solution, are handled by the update wizard, which allows you to schedule definition file downloads for the entire organization, as well as upgrades of particular software components.
Other elements include ClientShield, which protects against malware such as spam, spyware, and hacking tools, and FileSecure, which is designed to protect Novell NetWare or Windows file servers.
There are also separate programs for Exchange Server, Proxy Server 2.0, CVP Servers, Internet Security and Acceleration server, Lotus Notes and Domino, Sendmail, and Linux.
Panda AdminSecure is enormous. Installation requires at least a Pentium III 800MHz processor, 256MB of Ram, and 340MB of free disk space, and this may increase depending on how many computers you are administrating.
