Report: most orgs lacking in response team, policies to address cyber incidents

In its "Security Engineering Research Team (SERT) Quarterly Threat Intelligence Report for Q3, 2014", security company Solutionary learned that 75 percent of organizations it assisted had no response team or policies and procedures to effectively address cyber incidents.

Within 24 hours of the disclosure of Shellshock, Solutionary SERT found that 67 percent of Shellshock signatures were tied to known malicious actors, according to the report.

At 44 percent, Go Daddy sites hosted the most malware in the third quarter of this year, with former number one Amazon Web Services falling to 17 percent, the report indicates.

The United States continues to be the number one country hosting malware, rising to 63 percent in the third quarter of 2014, according to the report, which adds that Spain and Switzerland are new to the top 10.
