ZixProtect with targeted threat protection is a multilayered SaaS-based email security and compliance solution focused on small to medium-sized companies. It provides email threat protection, business email continuity, email encryption and email data loss prevention with focus on ease of use for customers.
Email threat protection uses a multilayered filtering approach to protect against spam, viruses, zero-day malware, ransomware and phishing. This multilayered approach was designed specifically against threats organizations are facing today for predictive, proactive and responsible filtering at 99.5 percent accuracy through live threat analysis, machine learning, and automated traffic analysis. Multiple features and layers of the product are designed to catch all aspects of an attack, instead of a multilayer approach where each layer individually catches different aspects of an attack. It looks for the latest types of email threats, guarding against advanced attacks using link protection and sandboxing with disarm and retract capabilities. 30-day business continuity offers emergency recovery so users can continue to access emails through the web-based interface.
Email communication filtering provides proven policy and content scanning capabilities with an intuitive quarantine interface for both administrators and end users. Filtering can be done with out-of-the-box options for a variety of standards like HIPAA, GDPR, GLBA, FERPA and others. If customers have specific requirements, all you need to do is call Zix. Custom filtering will be built per specifications so an organization will have fewer issues and false positives along with the filtering and protection you need. This filtering support is included.
Email quarantine reviews the workflow and audit trail. It is configurable to allow for sender and compliance manager notifications when an email is quarantined. This can be leveraged as a training tool using the option sender release with justification feature to improve employee awareness on handling sensitive data.
The secure portal was designed to be mobile friendly and customizable with a focus on user-friendliness, combining strong security with a convenient user experience. There are no extra steps or passwords required for senders or recipients to access encrypted emails. Outbound traffic is sent with gateway encryption (sender and recipient both use ZixProtect), TLS encryption or through the secure portal.
Zix plans to continue extending their core product capabilities to include enhanced reporting and SIEM integration for enhanced threat protection with the integration of AppRiver for improved usability for customers and partners. The company is also looking to enhance self-service across all of its services. Although the product itself is highly intuitive, from an aesthetic standpoint, the dashboard looked outdated with a lot of text on-screen compared to competitors with more design focus and graphs. This does not, however, take away from the ease of using ZixProtect.
Installation requires MX record changes in a customer DNS server. Installation services are included.
