At about 10:15 a.m., a tweet was posted, stating, “I am resigning. I am embarrassed by the actions of the government. Forgive me.” Other tweets stated that Medvedev was to become a freelance photographer, and another stated that “Crimea is not ours,” according to the report.
The Cabinet's press service quickly announced that the account had been hacked and the tweets were not authentic, and later stated that while it is still unclear what happened, an investigation is ongoing, according to the report.
A profane tweet was posted to then-President Medvedev's Twitter account back in December 2011, the report indicates.
