Healthcare IT professionals deal with an increasing array of critical security issues that involve privacy, BYOD and network access, managing live-saving medical devices, and ensuring compliance federal regulations. It's a difficult landscape, with seemingly conflicting goals and demands.  Visitors, employees, doctors, and patients all demand access to network resources from any device of their choosing, but security teams must ensure that federal regulatory laws such as the Healthcare Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), the Health Information Technology for Economic and Clinical Health (HITECH) Act are met.  They must guarantee that patient records are secure, and that have continuous visibility and control over all devices on the network.

This webinar brings together a panel of healthcare security practitioners to discuss these challenges, and look at how integrated technology solutions help deliver both enhanced security and flexibility within the healthcare environment. Larry Allen, CIO, Healthcare Network of Southwest Florida, will presents an overview of the different security challenges facing medical providers, including new data from a recent IDG Connect Cyber Security survey that looks specifically at how security professionals in healthcare are dealing with these issues.  Travis Funkhouser, Systems Engineer of ForeScout, will then look at how integrated technology solutions can be used to solve the issues.  A lively panel discussion will follow, with Adam Murphy, Data Security Manager at BayCare Health System and Alex Naveira of Miami Children's Hospital to give a real-world view of how these organizations have improved security and decreased risk through technology.

Attendees will learn:

  • How to balance increased demand for access across mobile & medical devices while maintaining security levels.
  • Ensuring achieving compliance around regulatory requirements.
  • Securing patient privacy and encryption.
  • Securing the network from both managed and unmanaged devices,
  • How to increase security and ROI of all security solutions – NAC, MDM, SIEM and VA – through interoperability.
Speakers:
Larry Allen, Certified Healthcare CSO
Travis Funkhouser, Systems Engineer, ForeScout
