A Florida sex-offender, is expected to plead guilty Thursday to trying to hack into what is believed to be the Clinton Foundation's network back in 2015.
Timothy Sedlak, 43, was accused of trying to gain access to an unnamed New York-based global charitable organization's network , according to court records.
While prosecutors never named the organization, Reuters obtained records of U.S. Secret Service agents questioning Sedlak about notes they found referencing former Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton and her daughter, Chelsea Clinton, who Sedlak said "came up in his research."
Sedlak claimed to be a private investigator and told agents that he was doing research to find whether charities were unintentionally providing funding to radical militant groups when questioned by authorities.
Sedlak has already been sentenced to 42-years in prison after authorities found files on his computer, following his arrest, containing child pornography and images of Sedlak himself sexually abusing a toddler.
