Singin’ a sad tune: Personal data on every Nashville, Tenn. voter lost

The personal information of every Nashville, Tenn. voter was potentially exposed when election office computers were stolen over the Christmas holiday.

How many victims? 337,000 voters.

What kind of personal information? Names, addresses, phone numbers and the last four digits of Social Security numbers.

Details: The stolen data from the Davidson County Election Commission's Office was the same information available to candidates to buy for their mailing lists. Tennessee holds the presidential primary on Feb. 5, but early voting begins Jan. 16.
