New research claims that top IT professionals are increasingly concerned about information theft, with 38 per cent citing it as their number one concern. Regulatory compliance was the top issue for 33 per cent of respondents, while 27 per cent worry most about viruses, according to a survey by Cisco.

Surprisingly, nobody claimed to be "extremely concerned" about VoIP or unified communications security, although 49 per cent agreed that security should be a consideration when implementing IP-based communications. However, almost two thirds (60 per cent) believe their organisations are "more secure" or "much more secure" compared to a year ago.
