Top 10 Cyber-Security Challenge UK talents chosen for European finals

The final 10 candidates who will represent the Cyber-Security Challenge UK in the European Cyber-Security Challenge (ECSC) 2016 have been chosen.

The ECSC is a chance for the top cyber-talents in Europe to meet, network, collaborate and compete against one another to determine which country has the best skills. Young cyber-talents discovered at the competition are encouraged to pursue careers in cyber-security.

During the competition, contestants solve security-related tasks related to areas such as web security, mobile security, crypto puzzles, reverse engineering and forensics.

The 10 UK finalists will compete against teams from Estonia, Greece, Ireland, Liechtenstein, Switzerland, Germany, Austria, Spain and Romania.

The European final will be held in Dusseldorf, Germany from 7-10 November 2016.

In emailed comments to SCMagazineUK.com, Stephanie Daman, CEO of Cyber Security Challenge UK said, “We had some fantastic entrants take part in this year's qualifiers and, after a hard fought competition, we have a very strong team that will be heading to the European Cyber Security Challenge to represent the UK."

"Cyber-security is a critical issue for countries across the globe and competitions like this allow us to form better working relationships with our counterparts in Europe in a friendly, competitive environment. The competition is a chance for contestants to interact with like-minded people across the continent and learn new skills that they may not have had the opportunity to do before. Best of luck to the team!"
