U.K. law enforcement arrested two people in connection with the hacking of the closed circuit TV camera system in Washington, D.C., during the week leading up to President Donald Trump's inauguration.

The Washington Post said the U.K. National Crime Agency (NCA) arrested a male British citizen and female Swedish citizen at the request of the U.S. government. However, both have since been bailed out of jail. The namesof the suspects were revealed and the NCA declined to furnish additional information.

The majority of the D.C. video camera network, 123 of 187 cameras, was hit with ransomware between January 12-15. Payment was not made nor needed as the cameras were brought back online by the city IT department in time for the January 20 inauguration.
