Business has been quiet for anti-virus firm Trend Micro as it reported that the spread of computer viruses has slowed down.
According to research from the firm, June saw fewer (950) new malicious codes than May.
"This is fewer than last month and June was the first month this year that Trend Micro did not declare a virus alert," said David Kopp, head of TrendLabs, EMEA. "However, the effects of the high levels of activity seen earlier this year are still rife and variants of the Netsky worm still represent eight of the top ten threats seen in EMEA."
According to the firm, Netsky represented eight out of the top ten threats seen in the EMEA region last month.
The top threat came from PE_ZAFI - a memory resident blended threat that uses social engineering techniques.
