Amazon Web Services AWS Verified Access cybersecurity service has entered general availability, SiliconANGLE
Introduced in November 2022, AWS Verified Access integrates with the login menu of organizations internal applications, performing a check on inputted credentials
and taking the appropriate action on each access request. Users can also implement additional security requirements for granting access, such as the user needing to sign in from a secure device.
The service also comes integrated with AWS WAF, or web application firewall, which it uses to protect organizations workloads from malicious activities such as SQL injection attempts.
Through the firewall, AWS Verified Access users can also monitor user traffic headed to their applications, with the traffic logs able to be sent to third-party observability platforms such as those by IBM or New Relic for analysis.
In addition, the service has newly received support for signed identity context, which improves the user experience during instances in which users are required to log in twice. With the feature, users will be able to access applications after entering their credentials only once.
