Cisco announces winners of Security Grand Challenge

Cisco has announced the winners of three Security Grand Challenges. Taking home top honors and a $150,000 prize in the IoT Innovation Grand Challenge was Relayr for its “simple and inexpensive tools” designed to “accelerate developers' ability.”

Excalibur, Cornell Tech and Rice University, Aircloak and the Max Planck Institute for Software Systems, and Carnegie Mellon University edged ahead of a pack of more than 100 submissions from 33 countries to each snag $75,000 in the IoT Grand Security Challenge. And Mash5 and Zillionsource brought home the prizes for a mobile app development and cloud platform and a cloud solution for the logistics and transportation industry, respectively, in the Grand Challenge for Greater China.

Cisco also announced a new two-phase competition, The IoTWF Young Women's Innovation Grand Challenge, which will run from November 15th 2014 through early 2015.
