CISO survey: 75 percent expect cloud security budget increase

In a preview of its 2014 CISO study, IBM has revealed CSIOs' top cloud security concerns.

In the survey, which polled nearly 150 CISOs, 85 percent of respondents said their organization was moving to the cloud, but almost half of CISOs expect a “major cloud provider to experience a breach,” a release from IBM said. Over the next three to five years, 75 percent of CISOs expect their cloud security budgets to increase or “increase dramatically,” the report revaled.

In December, IBM plans to release the full CISO report covering multiple security areas, including the cloud. In an interview with SCMagazine.com, Kris Lovejoy, general manager of IBM's Security Services Division, said added resources would likely be used to manage user access to cloud services, protect data and apps, and increase overall visibility of data stored in the cloud.
