Dell previews Project Frontier edge management platform

Dell Technologies offered a preview of its in-development Project Frontier platform, which is designed to be the company's consolidated edge security and management solution, according to ZDNet. Project Frontier will result in a new edge operations hardware platform and stand-alone software upon completion, according to the company, with founder and CEO Michael Dell saying at a press event that Frontier will enable users to better secure, manage and orchestrate edge applications and infrastructure across global deployments. Project Frontier is an edge operation software platform designed to help customers scale their edge applications in a secure way, said Dell, who added that a global support deployment network will be available to customers tailored to whatever industry they are in, including advanced manufacturing and retail and transportation [and] logistics. Project Frontiers planned contributions to users edge-computing processes include zero-trust-enabled security protection, centralized management, reduced need for IT expertise and a wide variety of software applications, multi-cloud environments and IoT frameworks to choose from, Dell said.
