Palo Alto’s Prisma Cloud to get enhanced CI/CD security

Palo Alto Networks Prisma Cloud Chief Technology Officer Ory Segal spoke at the company's annual Code to Cloud Cybersecurity Summit, in which he spoke about some of the security trends and challenges in the field of DevOps in the cloud, TechRepublic reports. Segal highlighted a significant vulnerability within the continuous integration/continuous deployment processes of software development in modern times, in which companies now essentially host their entire workflow on the public Internet through reliance on GIT repositories and building tools. This, in combination with developers increasing use of personal devices, makes workers vulnerable to social engineering attacks. Threat actors would then have an opening into the victimsGitHub repository and be able to poison the development process. Palo Alto Networks is planning to help address this in the future with the addition of a CI/CD security module to its Palo Alto Prisma Cloud platform, Segal said. This enables scanning of each workers code repositories and conducting runtime protection once the software is completed.
