Google Cloud’s Network Connectivity Center now supported by Fortinet, Versa

Fortinet and Versa Networks announced separately that they are enabling support for Google’s Network Connectivity Center, which would allow the companies’ customers to tap Google Cloud Platform’s private backbone and route branch-to-branch as well as branch-to-cloud traffic through Google Cloud’s network, according to SDxCentral.

“With the integration of Fortinet Secure SD-WAN and Google Cloud’s Network Connectivity Center, we are offering customers the unique opportunity to secure the cloud on-ramp into the cloud, between clouds and within the cloud," said Fortinet CMO John Maddison.

Google’s NCC, which was launched in preview in March, is the company’s answer to Transit Connect by Amazon and Azure’s Virtual WAN transport services -- providing the ability to provision and manage SD-WAN interconnects and VPN tunnels using a single dashboard.

Integration with NCC enables Fortinet’s and Versa’s users to create new branch sites in a matter of minutes, all while using the Google Cloud Platform private backbone, according to the companies.
