“Enterprises are moving from simply supporting remote work to becoming distributed, anywhere organizations. To be successful, this means investing in technology and a long-term strategy to be a stronger, more focused and more resilient organization,” Sanjay Poonen, VMware’s chief operating officer for customer operations, wrote in a blog post.
Shawn Bass, chief technology officer for end-user computing at VMWare, said the integrations in Anywhere Workspace create stronger security capabilities -- for example: remote workers’ cloud-hosted virtual desktops and mobile devices are jointly secured through unified virtual and physical endpoint management provided by Workspace ONE and Carbon Black Cloud working together, while Anywhere’s SASE services safeguard companies’ cloud resources through its SD-WAN access and zero-trust security components. Bass noted that data-loss prevention support and a cloud-access security broker, among other features, will be added in the future.
