Bankruptcy judge orders Mt. Gox CEO to U.S. for questioning

A U.S. Bankruptcy Court judge has ordered Mt. Gox CEO Mark Karpeles to appear on April 17 at the Dallas offices of the law firm representing the shuttered Bitcoin exchange to answer questions regarding Mt. Gox's pending bankruptcy case, according to report by Reuters.

The company filed for Chapter 15 bankruptcy protection in February in Tokyo and in March Karpeles petitioned a court in Dallas for the same protection after U.S. customers had launched a class action suit against the exchange in an attempt to retrieve the $400 million in digital currency that Mt. Gox lost.

Saying that if Karpeles "avails himself of this court, my God, he is going to get himself over here," U.S. Bankruptcy Judge Stacey Jernigan directed the CEO to return to the U.S. to answer questions but confined the deposition to questions regarding bankruptcy protection.
