Plymouth boy charged over international cyber-attacks

A 15-year-old boy from Plymouth, UK has been charged in connection with cyber-attacks on websites around the world and in connection with bomb hoaxes in North America.

The boy, who cannot be named because he is a legal minor, was charged with three offences under Section 3 of the Computer Misuse Act. These reportedly relate to DDoS attacks on websites in Europe, North America, Africa and Asia.

He was also charged with two offences under Section 51 of the Criminal Law Act. These relate to bomb hoaxes over social media against North American airlines.

According to the Western Morning News, he has been bailed to appear before Plymouth Youth Court on 18 December.
