Okta introduces consolidated identity tool

VentureBeat reports that Okta has launched its new Workforce Identity Cloud offering, which consolidates identity access management, identity governance and administration, and privileged access management, into a unified identity tool. Workforce Identity Cloud features Okta Identity Governance, which enables a simpler resource access request and approval system, as well as Okta Privileged Access, which provides security enhancements for privileged resources and allows detailed compliance reports, according to Okta President and Chief Development Officer of Workforce Identity Sagnik Nandy. Consolidating the major modern identity management pillars could also enable access governance for all use cases, increasing IT and workforce agility and productivity, while strengthening security, Nandy said. "Given the rise of multi-cloud and the continued adoption of a broad and deep ecosystem of SaaS applications, identity solutions for privileged and non-privileged users really need to span the full landscape of technology choice, or risk creating the kinds of identity siloes that result in security holes," added Nandy.
