Network intelligence firm Tektronix buys Arbor

Tektronix Communications, provider of communications test and network intelligence products, announced Monday that it has acquired Arbor Networks, which makes network security solutions that prevent distributed denial-of-service attacks. Terms of the deal were not disclosed. According to Plano, Texas-based Tektronix, the purchase will allow the company to extend network security and monitoring services to its fixed-line mobile, converged/IP and enterprise customers. Chelmsford, Mass.-based Arbor Networks' also makes a broadband service optimization product. — DK
