Oracle on Wednesday pushed updates for its Java Standard Edition (SE) to address 14 vulnerabilities. Each of the flaws being patched can be remotely exploited if a user runs a malicious Java applet or Java Web Start application. Java-based attacks were among the most common exploits seen last year by security firms. The fixes were delivered as part of a quarterly security update, with the next patches due June 12. Oracle joined Microsoft and Adobe as the latest software vendor to issue fixes this week.
